Month two!

 

Fun facts:

  1. Costa Rica has not had a national army since 1948

  2. 5 active volcanoes

  3. Said to be one of the happiest countries in the world

  4. 801 miles of coastline (!!!!!!)

  5. There are 52 species of Hummingbirds

 

If I get to be a tourist I want to…

  1. Irazu Volcano National Park – 5 craters, great views, and a lime green lake

  2. Brauilo Carillo National Park – mountains, dormant volcanoes, rainforest,  wildlife, waterfalls, and canyons. The park is home to jaguars, pumas, sloths, monkeys, quetzals (the national bird), toucans, and eagles.

  3. Arenal Reserve – aerial tram and canopy zipline

 

Food I want to try:

  1. Chifrijo – chicharrones and frijoles with rice and pico de gallo

  2. Granizados – shaved ice layered with powdered milk, condensed milk, and flavored syrup (classic flavors being cherry, mango, blue raspberry, and grape)

  3. Agua de sapo – lemonade made with brown sugar and ginger
