During our last week in Thailand, I got a tattoo! The WI-FI I have access to here in Malaysia isn’t great so I can’t upload a photo of my tattoo, but you can check out my Instagram (@heatherkstewart) to see it! It’s a window with mountains and a sun on the other side.

The window symbolizes God’s empathy and his ability to see us where we’re at and shine his light on us (sun) and  remind us of the strength (mountains) and growth (plant) we have in Him. Here are 2 poems that further explain its meaning.

—

how vast your love is

like the sky

reaching every corner of every life

your light leaks through every window

your bountiful rains cover every pasture

your blue hues are reminders of your steady, never ending grace

your orange and pink hues are reminders of the rich joy found in your smile

rainbows sprout from your infinite corners as a reminder of your promises

and even when darkness falls you fill the world with pockets of your light

the moon is your watchful eye, reflecting the light of your all-providing heart [sun]

and the stars twinkle to echo your eternal heavenly heartbeat

i can’t see the impact your sky is having in other parts of the world, but i can trust that your ability to adapt to my seasons carries over to those light years away

intricacy with the lord looks different for everyone. i can’t wait for Abba to use me in different people’s lives. my intricate relationship with the lord will be a piece of someone else’s unique window into heaven. we all make up each other’s intricate windows. he has hand crafted every relationship just for us.

you shine in different hues

as the clock’s hands grasp for what’s next

1:00/ your joy radiates through a smiling son onto his struggling mother — your childlike nature shines

2:00/a grey-haired man finds peace in a newly empty bed as your presence fills the vacancy

3:00/ you provide a listening ear for the boy whose been holding back tears for years

4:00/a victim finds refuge in your renewal and forgiveness

5:00/ a mother finds inspiration in the patience you’ve shown her throughout the years

6:00/ a young girl finds comfort in your parental love as her parents argue outside her bedroom door

7:00/ an insecure teen finds relief as you remind her that she is beautifully & wonderfully made

8:00/ a woman relishes in the freedom to cry to you as her life seems to spiral

9:00/ a prisoner cracks a small smile after hearing of your forgiving heart for the first time

10:00/ a gymnast cries tears of joy after running on their previously injured knee thanks to the power of prayer

11:00/ a woman finds release knowing that she doesn’t have to put out to be good enough for you

12:00/ i rejoice as i discover new parts of who you are

your heart is never a broken clock

your love never fails to point toward what is needed in the now

you’re not constructed to time zones

or the boxes people swear you fit

you freely shine to match the orah needed in ever heart

a kaleidoscope of love

you put abundant, nonpareil detail into every relationship you form
