This week at ministry has been so fruitful! Getting to know and love on the sweet kids at the foster home we’re placed at has been such a blessing. Abba has been revealing so much about his steady nature to me throughout this week. His peace is supernatural, but if you take the time to seek it, it’s all around.
On Wednesday, my sweet friend Avery and I were hanging out with the babies at ministry. The nannies were leaving for about an hour to go take a CPR class, and our other teammate that was originally supposed to be with us was having a one-on-one with Courtney, our squad leader.
Panic quickly ensued as the babies realized their nannies were leaving. It didn’t take long for every 1 and 2-year-old in the room to start crying. Avery and I tried our best to comfort a couple of the children, but our arms weren’t big enough to hold all 6. As time continued on, I began to realize Sam and Courtney were not coming back any time soon. I asked Abba for help, desperate for joy and peace to fall down on the kids and for the screaming to cease. He put the song “Jesus Loves Me” on my heart.
In awe, I watched each kid, one by one, calm down as I sang the words to the simple children’s song. Avery eventually joined in, and we continued to sing as we watched peace wash over each child. We couldn’t help but thank God over and over again. All it took was prayerful waiting and a rejoicing song for him to show up. Avery and I didn’t have the capacity to comfort all the distraught babies, but Abba wrapped his arms around every single one of their hearts and provided them with the ultimate comfort.
The most mind-blowing part was that, as we continued into our lesson, the babies were calmer than I had ever seen them before. Their laughter was the most abundant I had seen it. So, in case you were wondering, God really does work in babies’ hearts. Seeing that caused a stir in my heart as well.
Here’s a little something I wrote to commemorate this lil’ testimony to God’s powerful peace:
Thank you, Papa, for always showing up. When Avery and I were surrounded by screaming babies, you calmed the sea of tears. Life with you is calm waters [peace]. Life with you is going with the waves [patience]. You are vast like the sky that reaches every corner of every life…
I got an opportunity this past week to take some pictures of the kids and they are so precious! I can’t post the ones I got with their faces in them due to privacy and safety reasons, but I think the following pictures still capture at least a fraction of their cuteness.

Here's some miscellaneous pictures I got of the kids playing around.
They love watching the cat when she slips past the door. Here you can see just a small fraction of their playground equipment!
The babies are super drowsy after nap time, so here they are just chillin'.
The kids love playing with and wearing my glasses. It is seriously the cutest thing ever.

some lil' adorable baby toes (fun fact: the second picture was actually taken, with my help, by one of the 2-year-old kiddos. they loved playing with my camera.)
