This month we are in Pretoria, South Africa! Honestly, it feels like home! Most people think we are South African, well until we speak or they speak afrikaans to us and we have no idea what they are saying! We are staying at a camp and helping with outreach and maintenance. Everyday looks a little different, but that makes it fun. The next few weeks we will be helping them staff camps and hanging out with the kids. Stay tuned to hear all about the #camplife!
Some days we go to schools to talk about Jesus, sing songs and hang out with the kids. Last week we baked them 250+ muffins and gave them a bible verse to go with them. They loved having us, especially because we brought tasty treats.
On Saturday we got to love on our host family by going to their son’s rugby game. We made signs and cheered his team on.
Today we went to a children’s home named Jehovah Jirah. My job was to do the laundry South African style! I got a good workout scrubbing those clothes and had a great time doing it. The children will go to sleep on clean sheets tonight. The team washed clothes, helped in the daycare, and helped clean the house.
A radio station invited us to spend a few minutes on the air to share our experience on the race and how God has moved all over the world.
