You steady me

Slow and sweet we sway

Take the lead and I will follow

As I was listening to the song “We Dance” by Bethel God spoke to me about how our relationship is like a dance.  These lyrics resonated with me.  It’s so true every step Jesus is leading the way and I have to trust him to follow his lead.

Finally, ready now

To close my eyes and just believe

That you won’t lead me where you don’t go

When my faith gets tired

And my hope seems lost

You spin me round and round

And remind me of that song

The one you wrote for me

Every step of this journey God has been right there.  In the moments of overwhelming joy and in the moments of tiredness and doubts that I can’t finish.  He will never lead me somewhere He won’t go.  I don’t have to worry about the second half of this journey because I know he will be there every step of the way.  I know there will be times of swaying and maybe even falling, but He will be there to catch me every time.  He always has been and always will be.

And we dance

And we dance

I’ve been told

To pick up my sword

And fight for love

Little did I know

That love had won for me

LOVE HAS WON FOR ME! Jesus has won for me! He has overcome sin, hell, and the grave! I get the chance to share this truth with people all over the world.  I am halfway through this journey and yet it seems God is just beginning to show me how much he loves me and his people.  I look forward to what He has in store over the next 5 months.

Here in your arms

You still my heart again

And I breathe you in

Like I’ve never breathed till now

When my faith gets tired

And my hope seems lost

You spin me around and round

And remind me of the song

The one you wrote for me

God has been teaching me to just be in his presence and to still my heart to listen to him.  This month we have more free time and I keep asking him what he wants me to do with it.  But he has reminded me just to rest in him and allow him to renew me. God wants us to just breathe him and his word in.

And we dance

And we dance

And we dance

And we dance

Just you and me

And I will lock eyes

With the one who’s chosen me

The one who set my feet to dancing

We dance

Just you and me

It’s nice to know

I’m not alone

I’ve found my home here in your arms

On this journey and from now on I choose to dance with the one who has chosen me and set my feet to dancing.  Just Jesus and me.  I know if I constantly find my home in his arms all other things will fall into place.  This whole journey God has been teaching me to let go of perfectionism and busyness and focus on moment to moment obedience.  He wants me to trust Him.  That is what God really desires.  And we dance for the next five months, into the rest of my life and forever in eternity!
