“I saw a man with a red shirt.” That was what my teammate Britt saw during listening prayer before we went out evangelizing this morning. As we got out of the car we walked a little ways to spread out the teams. We stopped by a store and asked the translator where we were going. He said we were just walking without a destination in mind. I thought great we are just walking. But God knew where we were going and had us in the perfect spot. A few seconds later a man walks past us with a RED shirt.
So Britt, the translator, and I walked up to the man. We started asking him about Jesus and we didn’t get too far with him. He said he had to take the cokes he just bought to the beach. We asked if we could follow him. So our team followed this man in the red shirt down to the beach.
He led us to 8 guys hanging out by their boats on the beach. The view was breathtaking as many are here in Haiti.
We introduced ourselves and began asking about Jesus. They knew about him but didn’t know him or have a relationship with him. Britt and I got to share the gospel with them and some of our experiences with the Lord. All 8 guys said they wanted a real relationship with Jesus. I led them in a prayer and we encouraged them to go to the one guys church and get connected with other believers. We were able to give them all bibles in their language. Get this we had exactly 8 in our bag! Wow God! He always goes before us and prepares our way! He knew we needed 8 today! Fransisco, one of the gentleman, spoke great English and he told us about how he was going to share Christ with his wife Linda and 6 kids. One of our other teammates prayed healing over one of the guys arms who was in an accident. Continue to pray for him. His arm wasn’t healed today but his heart was!
Today was an incredible experience and I am so thankful that God allowed us to be apart of it! Pray for these amazing gentleman we met today and that they would continue to follow Jesus all the days of their lives.
