Calling all Wise Men/Women… (60 and up!)
This month our ministry host has introduced us to a plethora of ministries that he is associated with. Basically, he’s giving us the opportunity to get information and potentially become apart of them some day. Don’t worry I’m not moving to Romania mom… well unless God calls me at some point but not yet! The reason I want to share this information with you is he told us about this amazing opportunity today for you (if you fit the criteria in the title) to get involved in. He sees the potential and so do I!
Our ministry host told us about a ministry that partners with wise men and women above the age of 60 years old around the globe without financial requirements or having to actually come here to Romania. The men and women (that’s you!) spend 1-2 hours per week skyping or communicating somehow with missionaries here in Romania. They encourage them, pray for them and support them. Some of them write letters and notes that bring so much joy and pour so much love and support into the missionaries here. What a fantastic idea right????
So why is this ministry primarily for older adults? I am so glad you asked. The heart behind this ministry is not just to pour into the missionaries here but to get people on mission that may feel like they have nothing left to give. Ya’ll are so wise and have so much to give! The potential is endless! The ministry is for people who may be retired or for health reasons can’t exactly fly across the pond to spread the word. But they can pray for, encourage, and support people who do!
Why did I feel compelled to write this blog? Once again so glad you asked! When our host was explaining this one the Holy Spirit just put name after name of people I know (many of which read these blogs) on my heart who would be perfect for this role. Yep you know who you are! The Holy Spirit is tugging at your heart right now as you read this or someone is telling you about this blog! Could you give up one to two hours a week to stand in the gap for a missionary that feels like they are on the brink of failure? The statistics of people who follow the call here and end up giving up are awfully high. They need you to come alongside and fight this battle with them.
