When you think of an orphanage you may think of Annie or Oliver twist.   Dark places where the children are forgotten and unloved.  When we pulled up to the orphanage I didn’t really know what to expect.  It looked amazing so pretty nice rose garden, playground, etc. however I still didn’t know what to expect when I walked into the building. We were given a tour, met all the children and staff, and then handed bowls and spoons and were asked to help feed the children dinner.  Many of these children are very independent for example 1 year olds feeding themselves and drinking out of regular cups. (No sippie cups here)
These children are very well taken care of. The workers here are amazing! They are so loving and patient with these children I don’t even know how to explain it.  These women gently talk to encourage and love each child.  I have not seen one person get upset, yell, or scream at anyone here. They all have smiles on their faces, peaceful presence about them, and the joy and love of the Lord overflowing out of them.

First week here at the orphanage has been amazing to say the least. God has been so good! Before we made it here I asked the Lord what authority He has given us to walk in while we are here in the orphanage.  He spoke to me and said just by loving on them we are not just changing these children we are changing this nation.  These children are the next generation and are powerful in His kingdom loving on them and showing them true love is more powerful than we know.

Many of these children’s stories are heart breaking and would make you cry; however they are still so joyous and full of love its encouraging.  Their little smiles and personalities are so sweet and loving it is amazing to see them interact with one another.  The older ones take care of the younger ones everyone loves on and takes care of the special needs children.  It blows me away to see how much compassion, how protective, and how loving they are for one another.   You can see in so many ways how the Lord is in this place! His love, presence, peace, patience, joy, thankfulness, and so much more fruit that is being produced here is encouraging to see.
I am very excited to see how the Lord moves here in this place!
