Myanmar is one beautiful country!!
Due to the country not being open to having foreign missionaries, we are asked to have a password on our blogs for the safety and courtesy of not compromising our hosts ministry. Although Christianity does exist and is accepted in a small population of Myanmar, they are still careful with ministry. Thank you for your understanding. This month has been incredible and so heart warming!
This is our first month with our new teams!! After month 4 they rearranged our squad to create new teams, leaders and opportunities to grow. Taking us out of the comfortability we created the first half of this journey with our teams and routines!! I will be forever grateful for team Beloved Daughters and their amazing hearts, but I am excited for more change and challenges to come that will help me grow personally and with the Lord.
Please welcome Team Valor!!
Valor- noun
boldness or determination in facing great danger, especially in battle; heroic courage; bravery

Our ministry this month is located in the outskirts of the city of Yangon. We are staying in a small motel in the middle of a village. My first thoughts driving into the village were flashbacks of Cote D’ivore Africa and the similarities they share. Dirt roads, tiny homes, children everywhere and welcoming faces! We are separated into 3 different ministries with our host Henry. Two of us are at a children’s home with roughly 20 little ones, two are at an orphanage at a relatives home, and the other three are at the Bible School. When hearing our ministry assignments I was extremely excited and knew this month was going to be amazing because my heart has always been with orphan ministry.
I have had the honor of working at the orphanage home with my girl Margaret. We were asked to teach English and spend time with the 7 children that live there. On our first day we were told they didn’t know any English, but to our surprise, they were just shy and knew more than what was led on.
We have spent the last three weeks teaching everything between the ABC’s and days of the week to grammar corrections, telling time, greetings, favorite colors and even math!! These kids are so smart and catch on so quickly. They are full of energy and the sweetest of the sweet. We even had some new friends get dropped off to sit in on our English classes!
Our mornings were full of learning, and our afternoons were designated for dance offs, duck duck goose, the wonder ball, soccer and what ever other game they could come up with!! One thing I loved was that whenever someone was supposed to be “out” of the game, instead they would stand up and sing a song, do a dance or recite scripture! It was beautiful!!
These kids stole my heart and put little pieces of it back together!! I feel so blessed to be able to be a part of this ministry and see the hearts of the people in this community.
The church was small, just one room with chairs, a fan and small air con system… but man was that tiny room filled! Filled with smiling faces, children sleeping, simply beautiful worship and the Holy Spirit! I love when you can sit in a room elbow to elbow, knee to knee with the people around you with no translator but still feel so much love and passion for the Lord. Doesn’t matter one bit what you can understand or not, Jesus was so present every Sunday without a doubt and I just loved watching him touch each and every single person in that room!

When was the last time you took the time to sit back and watch the people around you worship the Lord? When was the last time you took a moment to look around and acknowledge all the beauty that He created and thanked him. It’s absolutely beautiful and gives me such peace, I encourage and challenge you to take a moment out of your week and soak in your surroundings and give thanks to the Lord for all the blessings we have. I sure have realized the small things in life that I am so gracious of now after seeing how so little means SO much to many people around the world.
1 Timothy 4:4
For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer
