I will be honest and say that I have never thought about blogging before, so I don’t know exactly where to start. But I would like to share with you a little information about what the World Race is and what I will be sharing with you for the next year while on Mission.
The World Race is an 11 month Christian Mission trip through a non-profit missions organization called Adventures in Missions. Through this trip, I will be traveling around the world to 11 different countries:
Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, India, Nepal, Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua.
We will be joining ministries and churches in local communities to bring the gospel, work with children in orphanages, women and girls who have become victims of human trafficking, plant churches, slum ministry and bring restorative hope back to tribes and villages in need. Although the service will vary from country to country based on their individual needs, our main purpose is bring the focus back to Christ.
Not only will we be helping others in need, but this is a time where I will be able to discover my calling as well. I will be faced with many obstacles along the way. These challenges will help me discover my strengths and weaknesses, develop new skills and gifts, grow in my spiritual life and in my relationships back home and on the race.
The anxiety of planning such an enormous trip is a bit overwhelming, but I trusted God when I signed up that I can do this, and I will continue to trust that He will provide. The next couple of months will be tough, and it will be hard work, but it is an amazing feeling to take such a leap of faith. I will leave everything back home and devote myself to God and others for the next year.
