The emotion that fills this shot of a mother and her babygirl walking the streets with watet filled buckets is breathe taking! Everytime I look at this picture i see something new, I see something more amazing and feel so many more emotions. When I look at this women I remember this moment, I see strength, I see power, motherhood, and a teacher. I see pride, pain, Bravery, protection and most of all a role model. If you look closely you can see the slight water drip down her arm, the fierce look in her eyes and the time it took for her to master and then demonstrate thus life skill they possess at such a young age. You will see many babies, young children and teenage girls learning these every day tasks. You can see in this little girls face the determination and dedication to succeed and learn! Living in the streets of Diabo for a month really put it on my heart to encourage women to live bold and fierce everyday like these women! God didn’t send us here out of chance, He is in everything we do and He knows that there are so many aspects of life we as women can learn from these women of Diabo. How to love, how to serve, how to educate, how to live strong, live proud and most importantly how to live fiercely in Christ!

This is down in the market of Diabo. This little boy would have been sitting for hours with his family at this little stand. His mother at this time was helping my pastor purchase some avocado (Monica you would have loved them!) But thus beautiful, brown eyed boy with his slight smile was too cute to not catch my attention before walking away. He was a little hesitant of us at first but warmed up quick and his family enjoyed our short interaction, making him give us high fives and fist pumps! It is amazing how a small smile, a big high five and a little boy surrounded by lots of yams and plantains can make you feel!
It was a long morning of evangelism when we started the walk back to our compound. On our stroll home, we started to walk up to this little boy. With no-one else around, not a family member, friend or stranger…this little boy was playing in a pile of ash. There are piles such as this all around the village. To rid of waste and trash, a snall fire is lit, leaving heaps of ash and a smell of burnt trash to remain. I’m not sure why he was alone, where his imagination was taking him in this heap that morning, but he was content, happy I’m sure to just be playing. He happened to look up right at me as I tried to capture a moment of joy and play!!
