sleepless in seattle.
you know when the little boy calls into the radio station the first time and tom hanks is telling dr. marsha about his wife, and he says " she loved… she made everything beautiful." AND MAN, THATS WHAT JESUS DOES. just loves and makes everything beautiful, especially us.
so story time: over lunch a friend encouraged me to pray for specific things because Jesus wants to give us the desires of our heart (psalm 37:4). so i prayed that God would put it on people's hearts to give me gear so that God would be glorified in the smallest details of this trip and this happened without me telling any of them what i prayed for:
-my parents offered to buy my backpack
-my friend matt offered any gear he had
-my dear friends nick and kate offered to buy all the rest of my gear
-i wanted a good pair of hiking boots but it wasn't a necessity so i disregarded it and my friend clay is buying some for me.
-the backpack I was looking at was $250 and as i was driving to REI prayed that Jesus would be praised because of the small things leading up to this trip. I walked in it was the only on sale for $135
earth's crammed with heaven, and every common bush afire with God, but only he who sees takes off his shoes
