The people here in
Africa are suffering. AIDS is rampant here. Men and women are dying every day leaving a generation of children who have no hope, no direction, and no one to care for them. There are a few who do the best they can with the little resources they have to care for these orphans. They are fighting a losing battle with time.
These grandmothers, or gogos as they are called here in
Africa, extol their energy and lives to provide for the orphans, but they have so little themselves that they can’t keep up with the growing population. We have a chance now to go bring a little hope to their lives. We leave for our ministry on Tuesday to go to an orphan camp in

Swaziland where we will get to be a part of bringing a new life to a group of 95 orphans.
These children live together in this camp with a few gogos caring for them. They have nothing. They get food sometimes. They never know if they are going to get fed from day to day. They have little to no clothing. They are suffering, fatherless, motherless, and in dire need of someone to help. Some of the leaders at AIM and some Swazi business men have a vision to take this group of orphans and create a village for them. They want to clothe, feed and disciple them. They have a vision to create a community where they can put a mother or father figure in place, give them 8 or so orphans to care for, and then create a family structure from that.

We are going down to help feed and clothe the children. We will get to spend time loving them and teaching them about Jesus Christ. We will get to encourage and love those who are working with the children. We get to pour our lives out for those who have nothing. We will get to hug a child who has no promise of a mother to kiss him good night or a father to read her a story. We will get to play with children who don’t know when they will eat again and we will be able to give them food. Best of all we will get to teach them about a Savior who loves them more than life. We can tell them of a Father in Heaven who will always provide what they need and never leave their side. Please pray for us as we head into this ministry. We won’t have any electricity, but we will have running water. I am so excited to get to see how God provides for and uses us.

Pray
that we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). This ministry is going to be hard, but we know we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength(Philippians 4:13).

Pray
for these children, that will come to know the love of the Father and that this generation becomes part of a revival in
Africa.
