When the Lord told Abraham to leave from Ur, he did not reveal where he was going or what path he would take. He only told him to go to a place he would show him. We have a similar opportunity to put our faith in God and listen for his voice for direction this month. This afternoon we disembark from Jinotepe, refreshed and recharged from debrief, and journey out into Central America with nothing but the Lord’s leading to guide us. Our first stop is Managua, Nicaragua. The Lord is incredible. He lined up a free ride for us, a free place to stay, and the chance to minister in a dump in the area. The idea of this month is to follow a Luke 10 principle where the Lord sent out the 72 and told them to take nothing and rely on the kindness of those they come across. Well we are still taking our stuff (mostly because no one else wants to take it for us 🙂 ), but we are working with a smaller budget and relying on the Lord to provide. We want to see God do amazing things. We want him to use in ways we would never dream. Please pray that our spirits are sensitive to the Lord’s voice. Pray that he teaches us more about pouring out his love and spreading his word to the people we meet. Pray that he teaches us what it really means to trust him. Pray that we are in situations that we can only do with the Lord’s strength and wisdom. It’s a big thing we are asking of God this month, but He is an all-powerful God. And as I have seen time and time again, He loves us and has amazing things in store for us. We have decidede to take turns blogging this month because we are not sure about access to the internet. We are each going to take a week to keep everyone updated. The people traveling with me are Julie Lortz, Jenny Dawson, Casey Barefield and Beth Schroeder. Keep an eye out for blogs from all of us to know what’s going on. We are leaning on his understanding and not our own, so only He knows what is in store for us. We only know it’s going to change our life and the lives of those we touch.
