Proverbs 18:21 The tongue has the power of life and death
I learned many years ago that there are power in our words. We can build up or break down people. I have made the choice to try my hardest to always build people up with my words.
I was amazed today to see how words keep going. Tonight I helped lead worship which was awesome; there is nothing better than bilingual worship! After the service a lady wanted to talk with me. She testified that she was touched during my sermon a week and a half ago about trust without fear. She thanked me for bringing the word to her which helped her leave fear and doubt behind. Then she introduced me to her friend who she told about my message and her friend was changed as well. They wanted me to pray for them so I did as I realized the words I had spoken a week and a half ago (with seemingly no outward response) had permeated a heart and kept going to permeate another.
There is no telling where or when (if ever) those words will end! If you choose to say words that build up people God will use those words and spread those words for His Kingdom.
