I went to Gainesville, GA not really knowing what to expect from WR training camp. Training camp was transformational in many ways. My standards, mind, spirit, and way of life all transformed in some aspect.
I went knowing I was going to be camping in my tent…what I didn’t know was there would only be port-a-potties and bucket showers. So, my standards transformed. I enjoy a nice warm shower and clean hair. But, this week showed me that a baby wipe shower is a wonderful thing and even the woods work for a bathroom. Even if I wear the same clothes for a second day…God can still use me.
Many times if I get to a point where I can not do something I ask for help. But this week at training, God put in my spirit to press on and let Him be my strength. So it would have been easier to accept the help from others offering to carry my gear, but God was giving me strength to persevere and accomplish the task while transforming my mind. I also found such encouragement from my squad, iSquad, throughout the week.
I was surprised by the amount of teaching that took place within the first 3 days of camp. I took over 20 pages or notes. I won’t bore you with ALL the things I learned that transformed my spirit. The main thing that transformed my spirit was that you can ALWAYS go deeper with God. He is calling each of us to intimacy. To go deeper and have a greater intimacy with God we have to sacrifice. Many times that sacrifice is time…spending time with God to get to know Him better, just like you spend time with friends to get to know them better.
So, World Race training camp led to many transformations which in turn will transform my way of life. They got us up early each day to exercise and have personal time with God, which was an amazing way to start the day. I’m not going to just let these transformations be something I remember from WR Training Camp. I’m going to walk in a new way because of these transformations.
What is God wanting to transform in your life today? Does He want more intimacy with you? Does He want you to remember you can do ALL things through Him? Is there something else He’s trying to transform in your life? Yield to Him. Allow Him to transform your life so you can be more like Him.
