Lord make us blind and deaf, this is an odd request I know. Today the Lord has been filling my spirit in so many ways. After having an awesome day at the school I wanted the boldness, compassion, and love that the teacher had. I never thought I would want to be blind and deaf to get those things!
Before dinner one of our squad leaders was talking to our team and we asked him about his favorite God moment. He said it was when he was working with deaf kids during his world race. He kept questioning God why these kids were born this way, it was so unfair to them when God responded what if the only voice they hear is mine? They have no distractions and can hear only me. Wow!
Then during worship another squad leader had us blindfold ourselves during worship so we could focus on just God. We wouldn’t worry about what people thought of how we were worshipping or be distracted by what others were doing. It was an awesome experience to be with others but truly be alone with God during worship.
So at the end of today I want the Lord to make me deaf so that the only voice I can hear is His and make me blind so that the only thing I focus on is Him. How much different would our day be if we listened to God without distractions and always focused on Him? Lord make us deaf and blind!
