As I finished my eighth year of teaching, packing up my classroom was harder than I thought it was going to be. While packing, great memories kept flooding my mind of my students and the staff I worked with. I learned so many things in the last eight years, but the thing I learned most is compassion and always giving the students another chance. If I don’t give them another chance, who will? This is reflected in the many chances God has given me and will give to each one of us during the course of our lives.

On the last day of work many coworkers handed me donations for my trip or left them in my mailbox. I’m thankful for each person who has supported me financially, with words of encouragement, and in prayer. One thing that many people kept saying was that it wasn’t much but they wanted to support me. I thanked them for their support and told them every little bit helps. Later in the day as these comments kept coming to mind. Many times we think what we have to give or what we do isn’t much or enough. I couldn’t help but realize that God just wants us to give our best and that is more than enough for Him. Whether it’s time or money, God is asking for your best…He will take your best (even if it doesn’t seem like much) and multiply it for His kingdom.

As one chapter of my life is ending another is beginning. I want to enter this next chapter with compassion and the realization that my best, even though it may not seem like a lot, is more than enough for God!
