Swaziland – Unending Love: this month we worked at an AIM care point. We got to help teach preschool in the mornings and we hung out with about 200 grades school kids in the afternoon. The care points feed and disciple over 6,000 kids total in Swaziland, many of which are orphans and have HIV. It didn’t matter the home life or the health of the kids we worked with, they still had an unending love for us as we had the same unending love for them. They just wanted to be held, pushed on the swing, or talked to like any other child. But they had a light in their eyes and a love in their heart that I’ve not seen in many kids. God’s unending love flowed through them. It was evident that God had a special love for them that was demonstrated through the volunteers at the care points and the kids absorbed and gave out that same love. I want others to see the Lord’s unending love in me like I saw it in these kids.

Botswana – Ask and You Shall Receive: this month was ‘ask the Lord’ month. We didn’t have an assigned ministry; instead, we asked the Lord where to go and what to do. God had some pretty cool things in store. We got to help with a church launch and meet some incredible people that we got to befriend and love on. I was also asking God to heal my grief and give me wisdom for my future. I was amazed (which I shouldn’t have been) when God showed up and answered each request this month.

South Africa – Refreshed: I couldn’t have asked for a better way to end the Race! This month we partnered with a church and helped with a variety of ministry including speaking at churches and AA groups. We got to love on kids at orphanages and feeding centers. My favorite was handing out free water to the car guards. God showed His power through miraculous healings. But, the best part was the friends and family we made in South Africa. We had hosts who poured into us and who wanted us to experience the culture of the country. We got to witness the true joy and freedom that they had and it was inspiring and refreshing. God knew just what I needed and gave it to me on the last month of the Race so I could go home refreshed.
