Some days you want to see all your friends and chat all day while other days you just want to take some time to yourself. I was having a day where I just wanted to have some time by myself, but that is near impossible during the Race, especially with the buddy system. This day happened to be an off day so I went to the mall with 2 other girls. They were heading up to the coffee shop and I was shopping for a few things before I headed up. So, I ended up going in every store before I went up so I could get some extra alone time. I even got some KFC (the only American restaurant all over the world) before getting coffee.

I went to the bathroom before heading to meet the others for coffee. As I was leaving a lady came in and laid what looked like a bible on the counter (I’m not 100% sure because it was in another language). She looked at me and said Psalm 111:10. I looked at her and repeated it and she said yes, read Psalm 111:10 and then touched my arm and said “blessings” at which time I could feel the Spirit of the Lord. I walked out of the bathroom knowing I was just on the receiving side of a God Moment. Once I got up to the coffee shop I immediately looked up Psalm 111:10, which says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.”

It amazes me how God’s Word is always on time and that God will use others to deliver an on time message. I’ve been seeking God for wisdom in my life and God just wanted to remind me that I will receive the wisdom I ask for and I will be blessed because I’m seeking the wisdom from Him. This encounter also challenged me to listen to God’s voice always because If you respond in obedience then God will use you to speak life and hope to others.

That was just the start of my day that was full of blessings, just like the lady said. I got to talk with a few people from home which is always a blessing! Then the day ended around the campfire with two ladies from South Africa. I got to tell them about what we were doing and how we had seen God do so many amazing things. We ended up talking about dreams and God’s calling on each of our lives. I know it is a night that I will not forget and I don’t think they will either. We read from Joshua chapter 1 and these are the verses that stood out to me “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (?Joshua? ?1?:?7-9? NIV)

It still amazes me how God orchestrated this whole day and made Himself so known to me and others I came in contact with. But that’s what God does everyday. Most days we just don’t take time to realize it.

Don’t forget I will be running a 1/2 marathon at Victoria Falls in just over a week in memory of my stepdad. I will be raising money for cancer research. You can donate at www.gofundme.com/rememberrunraise Thanks 🙂
