Hello!  Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog welcome to my journey!

I’m still in the US, but feel that from the moment I decided to pursue the World Race I’ve begun an adventure: from the first interview, to getting to know my teammates, to researching outdoor gear (it will be my first time sleeping in a tent), and blogging – this is all new to me.

My name is Heather and I’m 27 years old.  I grew up in New Jersey and came back home after graduating from Liberty University in 2010.  I currently work as an admin for an international tax law firm in New York City.

I like cooking, trying new foods and decorating cupcakes.  I also like outdoor festivals, live music, just about any form of arts and crafts, and learning about other cultures.

My mom lives about 10 minutes away from me and we have become a pretty good tag-team when it comes to sewing and cooking in a time cruch.  My older sister is my landlord and also one of my best friends.  My younger sister is also going on the World Race this October (same countries as me), and it’s been pretty cool to go through this part of the preparation stages together.  My brother was the first person to introduce me to the Race. He got married this summer to a great person, who has really become another sister.

I am looking forward to sharing in this adventure with you and thank you for your support and encouragement!
