Wow! It feels like just yesterday I was beginning the process of composing a support letter and starting my blog and today, I’m leaving for training camp! Time is flying!
“What is training camp?” you might ask. That’s a GREAT question and honestly, I’m not completely sure. I know that I will meet some of the people that I will be serving alongside throughout the next year. I know that I will have the chance to test out some of my gear. I know that it will be a week that will challenge and stretch me and I know that I will see God moving. But, other than that, a lot of question marks remain. That’s the point, though: to be put in situations with a lot of unknown and be faithful to the movement of God and trust the process.
The World Race posted a great blog that provides some links that may answer some of the other questions you may have about training camp and that can be found here: http://updates.theworldrace.org/?filename=training-camp-starts-tomorrow
Honestly, training camp will be training for the World Race in so many ways; one being that the experience is different for every single person who steps forth in the process. So, like with the World Race, I hope to return with my own set of changes and influences and things to be excited about and things that have been challenging. And, I hope that I’ll be able to share those things with those of you reading this. Please ask me about it, though. One week from today, training camp will be over and I will be processing all of this and I need accountability as to how I’ve been transformed.
I’m so excited and a little nervous and feel very prepared in the least prepared way possible! Like I said before, I pretty much have no clue what this week will hold but I have the sense that the unknown is very freeing.
Please keep me in your prayers this week! Ask that I would be fully present and engaged and authentic. Pray for a spirit of unity amongst my squad and team and pray that God would renew our souls in unimaginable ways!
You are loved.
