We arrived in Targu Mures after an over night bus ride and found ourselves to be dwelling in this beautiful home in a small Hungarian village called Stejeris. We very quickly found out that our ministry would 1) not look the same every day and 2) would center around prayer. Our primary contact asked us to be in prayer and worship for 2 hours in our home every morning so that we would be prepared to come into the ministry time. We go into the city two days a week and spend a few hours passing out invitations to Pastor Zsombe’s church. This is a great opportunity for us to start talking with people about how God is working in our lives. On Tuesdays we (the women) lead a women’s Bible study discussing identity and specific to women struggles and the men go and practice true discipleship by hanging out with some young men we met who are hungry for God’s grace and love, but try to fill their lives with other stuff. On Wednesdays we get picked up in a van and drive to the neighboring Hungarian villages and gypsy villages to perform skits, preach, sing songs, play games, pray and mostly just to love on people who are desperate for some affection. On Saturdays we join with Pastor in leading the worship service at his church some of us giving testimonies, some singing and some good prayer time. On Sundays we partner with the local church, whose pastor is our landlord for the month, we help them in getting new, revolutionary services started up and work with their youth in their music ministry. Yes, I had the opportunity to not only sing but to perform Hungarian songs this month. This was a really cool opportunity to empower and encourage them to think outside of a very traditional box about what our Lord accepts as worship.
