As 2013 closes and my time with the World Race has ended there are things that I do not want to forget as we enter into a new year and for me a new season of life.
I do not want to forget how I learned to serve God in different forms of ministry, that ministry does not always look the same and will vary based on people, cultures, and really everything. In other words, working in an orphanage in Africa will not look the same in Asia. And that ministry could be talking to a stranger for a few minutes or seeking out homeless friends under a bridge.
Or how I learned there are many different forms of worship. Some people enjoy standing, dancing, waving their hands, or even shouting for joy. But most importantly how my daily life should reflect a form of worship to God.
Or how pure and wonderful God’s love is for us. I could see His love through my teammates when we were doing ministry and towards me during hard times, especially when I was hard to love.
Or what a woman after God’s heart looks like from the many women that I worked beside and with through the year. I also learned practical skills, like curling my hair, wearing make up, painting my nails, or even dressing in more stylish clothes.
Or how great and powerful the Holy Spirit is. I did not truly know the Holy Spirit until this year, and there is so much left for me to learn. I have spent hours in powerful prayer only because the Holy Spirit was moving so dramatically in me.
Or the special people that the world lost over this year. How each one touched my life in a way that will never be known.
I don’t know what my future looks like, but as 2014 begins I know I have another adventure waiting around the corner.
Thank you to everyone who supported me whether with finances, through prayer, or even a word of encouragement.
May God bless you in this year to come. Happy New Year!
