No, that is not my next month on the World Race, nor has it been added to my route.
The Lord has called me to begin a journey of following Him by following Him onto the World Race. He has also called me to complete all 11 months of it and the generous provision has been only one form of confirmation 🙂 I am now less than $1000 away from reaching this final deadline!
So, what does Hawaii have to do with anything?
Last month, the Lord stirred my heart to continue training with YWAM (Youth With a Mission) as my next step in following Him. He has given me a heart of discipleship, but also of teaching the truth. I prayerfully considered applying for the SBS (School of Biblical Studies), a school that goes through the entire Bible and teaches students to study the Scriptures within the context of history, considering who wrote the books, when, to whom the books were written and what was going on in the cultures at the time. This is training that teaches students to study the Bible for life and then go to the nations to teach others.
I believe the Lord wants to give me a solid foundation of understanding of His word before moving onto whatever it is He has next. After one month of prayer, I believe the Lord wanted me to step out in faith that this desire was His leading and to go ahead through the application process. So, that is exactly what I did.
Today my inbox held the awaited e-mail! I have been accepted to the July 2014 SBS in Honolulu, HI! The World Race finishes May 31st and I will be flying out to Hawaii on June 28th for 9 months of intense Biblical training followed by 2-3 months of mission work before continuing on however the Lord leads.
Friends, this journey is only beginning. Please continue on with me and discover all the Lord wants to do in and through us. If you are willing, please keep me in prayer that the remainder of the race would be all the Lord intends for it to be. Please pray that I would be open and pliable like clay to all the work the Lord wants to do in me and through me to share His love with the world. Will you also please pray that the Lord will work out every last detail and that He will provide everything that is needed?
Will you also prayerfully consider giving to the Lord and His work by investing in what He is doing in my life? I am in this for as long as the Lord leads. Living by faith trusting the Lord to provide for every need from fees to plane tickets to meals and deodorant is a very humbling experience. There is absolutely no way I can do this on my own or in my own strength. Those of you who have invested so far, your sacrificial gift has given far more than you know. Your prayers are far more powerful than you know and have been heard by the Lord of Heaven and your encouragement has kept me going on the hard days and propelled me to press into the Lord all the more. Thank you.
To those of you who choose to walk with me in the future, may this be a journey of growing ever closer to the Lord and mutual blessing in every way. Your prayers, support of every kind, and words of encouragement are invaluable and I simply cannot go on this journey without you.
