Two months have flown by (for the most part) 😉 and I can’t believe I’m sitting on a bus heading to Tegucigalpa, Honduras. I’m sitting next to my squadmate Katie, and I’m still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that I’m actually living out the moments I imagined in my mind of what travel days would be like. Some people are sprawled out on the floor using the seat as a pillow. Some people are watching movies. There is some kind of reggeton blasting on the speakers. Our bus driver loves him some Daddy Yankee. We are really all chilling after spending a whopping 6 hours at the border. We were detained due to our…guitars??…and we waited hours to get official permits to leave, yes leave, Nicaragua. Honduras didn’t spend any time worrying about what we had packed, so that part of customs was a lot easier.

Nicaragua was a month of limited wifi, and I really didn’t post much, so let me try and give you the highlights of November.

Before leaving Costa Rica, I told my niece Mady that we saw monkeys there. This was her reaction.

Saying goodbye to some of our friends in CR on our last day of church there.

From CR, we headed straight to Granada for debrief. This pic was at Laguna de Apoyo…one of my favorite places to chill. It’s around 700 feet deep (so they say) in a crater of a volcano. Mmmm, beauty. I’m so glad the squad got to experience it!

I RAN INTO SARAH KAYE ON THE STREETS OF GRANADA BEFORE WE EVEN MADE A PLAN TO MEET UP. That was one of my favorite moments of this trip so far.

Bus ride from Granada to Chinandega. We worked with Vision Nicaragua for the next few weeks and did a ton of door-to-door evangelism, kids ministry and some health clinics. We got to do some painting on the property, too.

Door-to-door exhibit A. Hunties is not too sure.

Now he is!

Chillin with kids outside a clinic.

Downtime at the beach…not sure which one. There weren’t many turists around!

Talking and praying with a litttle girl named Allison. (You can kind of see her in the blue dress). We had met her mom first a few streets over at her house, and we prayed over a health issue Allison has. Her mom told us Allison was wearing blue, so the first girl we saw with blue (it was a Frozen dress) ended up being her. There were a ton of kids around, so the odds of us finding her right away seemed low. It was such a cool moment when we picked her out of the crowd!

What house-to-house ministry looks like in between houses.

That day we thought we were going to be ministering to a group adults. When we arrived it ended up being a bunch of kids at a school. We had so much fun playing with them!

Push. That. Truck.

We rode in the back of the truck everywhere. It’s the windblown hair look.

Volcano boarding!

This was probably just as exciting as the volcano boarding part.

C h a r l o t t e. She is a blast from my past. I loved seeing her in Granada. (I went back again one weekend with my friend Chelsea).

Blanca, one of my old friends in Granada. LOVED seeing her!

Family fun time go!!

Take what you can carry….

Me and Chelsea…having so much fun at family fun time go night. 🙂
