My name is Heather. I go by Heath, Gerber (pronounced hair-bear), Srta. Kinglefinger (you can thank my students for that one), H Kingskies, H money swag, Hdawg, heat-her, or just Heather if you’re not about the nicknames.

I’m from Georgia… go Dawgs. My parents live in Georgia, but I have surrogates all over the place as well. (You know who you are). I also have two sisters, and they are my two favorite people in the world.

Sister love:

I once lived in Nicaragua for two years (also through AIM, curve ball)! I got to meet some World Racers, and I thought they were crazy (let me emphasize: cra-zy) for giving up so much freedom and comfort for an entire year. And yet here I am. (Side note: Interested in a blast from the past? Here you go.)

Here’s a taste of NicaLife (Specifically Young Life… aka Vida Joven):

Since living in Nicaragua, I’ve been teaching Spanish for the last 5 years at King’s Ridge Christian School in Alpharetta, Georgia. I teach Middle School, and it’s the absolute best.

Here are some of my students:

Some of my favorite things (other than hanging out with 13 year-olds) are Thai food (not the super spicy kind), small animals, attempting to surf but not being very good, and cortados…Really any kind of espresso.

Jesus is really and truly the reason I am who I am, and he is the one initiating this season I’m about to step into. I’ve been so blessed to be a part of incredible community in Atlanta for the past few years, and I look forward to the same on the Race.

So excited to see how Jesus leads and what he does over the next year.
