Welcome to my little corner of the blogosphere! My name is Heather and in my 25-year stint on this earth, I’ve started to learn a thing or two about who I am:

1. Because of Christ’s work on the cross, I am an adopted child of God. The implications of this fact far exceed my understanding, but I do know that he loves me more than I can comprehend, and he is for me in this life like no one else can or will ever be. My life, then, exists to bring him glory in all that it entails.

2. I often fail to live in light of point #1.

3. I am a survivor of the post-secondary education system: I received my B.A. in Intercultural Studies and my M.A. in Biblical Studies from Baptist Bible College & Seminary in Springfield, MO.

4. I am an introvert. I take a while to form close relationships, but once I do, I love those friends very deeply. I find small talk to be burdensome. And if you call me, I will probably ignore you and then text you back once my phone stops ringing… Paradoxically, I find public speaking to be quite invigorating!

5. My parents are two of the most happily married people I have ever met, and I have three brothers and a sister. We are all nerds in our own way, and that is what I love most about our family. Just ask me about my dad’s own personal Harry Potter world…

6. I love West Coast Swing.

7. I am well-suited to being a follower rather than the leader. I enjoy supporting, affirming and giving counsel to the person in charge, but not being the person in charge. However, I do not require micromanaging: My parents taught me how to work hard and think independently, and for that I am very thankful!

8. I love word play. Puns, alliterations, play on words, all day, every day!

9. I did not expect to still be single at this point in my life.

10. But I am thankful because I get to go on the World Race!
