My team has settled in to our 2 large bedroom, 1 real shower and toilet mansion- inclusive of a large front room, a huge refrigerator in the front room, and an outdoor kitchen with our own gas stove =) Ummm yea, to say that we are blessed is a huge understatement! The house that we were supposed to be staying in was rented to someone else the day that we arrived (also a blessing in disguise!), so we went from being homeless to living in an amazing home (albeit unfurnished), a beautiful porch and a yard!!! Oh yea, and did I mention that we can see Lake Victoria from here? Somehow we got this while still under budget, Thank You God!!
Ok, enough about the house. (I’m just a little excited about how blessed we are!) So my team is staying in a small town about 20 kilometers west of Kampala called Namulanda. We’re working with Pastor Alex and Pastor Tony at a small church called Christ Miracle Center. Our main ministry is door to door evangelism. We’ve only been out once so far, but it went pretty well. Kyle and I went out with Pastor Alex and we were able to share and encourage a handful of people in the few hours we were out. The last family we talked to are believers, but stuck right now because of the hypocrisy that they’ve seen. They were very open to hearing what we had to say though, asked a few questions, and we were able to pray with them and their family. I’ll share more about them in the future…it was kind of crazy today talking with them and seeing God work.
We will also be helping out with church services on Sunday and throughout the week. We’re trying to prepare for our first 5 hour church service this Sunday morning…should be fun!
I’ll update when I can, but we’re in the middle of nowehere and I love it!
