After travel week (yes, that’s an upgrade from travel days!) my team and Team Sequoia made it to Honduras! We’re living on a farm, more like a ranch, about 30 minutes outside of Tegucigalpa. It’s gorgeous out here…really, I think that’s been one of my favorite parts of the race- seeing how beautiful the world is!

This month we’re working with youth and families from one of the local villages- Los Pinos. We’re inviting 6 teenage guys out to the farm for 48 hour blocks of time and while they’re here we’ll have them helping with some projects around the property and creating different activities for them to do (scavenger hunts, hikes, etc.). Our goal is to just love on them and get to know them more while showing them an alternative lifestyle to the way they are currently living. We’ll have 6 guys stay with us Monday-Tuesday, then another 6 Wednesday-Thursday, and then on Friday afternoon some other kids from the village and a family will come out and stay with us until Saturday afternoon.

This weekend we had about 7 or 8 kids here in addition to a family (the mom and 5 of the kids came…so about 14 extra people!). We had a lot of fun with them, just hanging out and playing games. We rented a movie for Friday night and then Saturday we played water games. They seemed to enjoy the water fight the best!

And just because it’s hilarious…

Yea, I tried running away from the guys chasing me with buckets of water. As soon as I started I realized that I couldn’t run in flip flops…then I found a hole and well…I went down pretty hard hah It was hilarious though!

I was laughing too hard to actually let him help me up…and B. Cox was trying to contain her laughter…

It’s also been requested that I update on finances, sorry I haven’t been better about that! Right now I still need to raise $1,366 to be fully funded! I realize this confuses some people that I’m still raising support even though the final deadline was in December…basically, I had a supporter volunteer to donate whatever I am unable to raise by the end of the race. So that allows for other people to get involved that might not have been in a position to partner with me financially in the middle of the holiday season. So if you are still interested in supporting me that would be greatly appreciated!!! If you have any questions feel free to e-mail me =)
