This is a blog my team leader, Kenra, wrote about the spiritual warfare we've faced at Khaodee. She put it into words far better than I could. Keep us in your prayers!
God has called me to Thailand to pray.
For the first time in my life I read David's words in the Psalms and I understand his desperation for the Lord. Especially Psalm 18. Thailand has a population of over 68 million people, with only 1 million of those being Christian. Spiritually it is dark here, I'm not sure how to describe it other than the enemy is here and doesn't want us here. When we moved into Khoadee, we moved into a room right off the girls dorm rooms. The first day we were here I ran from the kitchen across the property to use the restroom. I completely forgot our door was locked so I walked down the long hall in the girls' dorms to get to their bathrooms. It was in the middle of the day and all the kids were gone to school. Walking down that hall I felt so many emotions, I got goosebumps and was literally shaking. It was a feeling that I got as a kid a few times when I was somewhere dark and was alone, but I have lived alone many times throughout the past few years and I never felt this overcome my body in such fearful way. I stood still as I walked out of the hall and prayed.
I didn't say anything to my team.
The next day all six of us girls were working in the garden. Melanie and Leanna came up to go to the bathroom and forgot the key, so they used the dormitory bathroom. Melanie has the gift of Spiritual Discernment and she said when they came back that she had never seen a place so dark as that hallway. I could tell it had really scared the two girls.
Heather, who is a prayer intercessor walked down the hall just to see what we were talking about and as she walked down the hall she had goosebumps all over her body. She was visibly shaken. She explained that she had been having vivid nightmares the night before and walking down the hall had made her realize they were linked.
Caitlyn was also struggling with being kept up all night with nightmares and she woke me up a few nights ago around 3am because she literally got jolted out of bed after hearing a young girl's screaming.
I can't explain it any better than there is something here that doesn't want us here. Two of the girls have struggled with dizziness and nausea and the spirit of fear has really started to attach to our team.
I decided to talk to our translator, Gai, after being a little hesitant about not knowing how Thai culture viewed spiritual warfare. I started by asking if they had any problems with the enemy trying to get in on any part of the property. She immediately said yes, they have had a lot of problems in the girls' dorms. She said it ranges from nightmares to the girls saying that they see things in their rooms. All of the girls have been scared.
The fourth night Erica and I were up having some one-on-one time and just talking about what was going on and she said, "we need to protect these girls." At that moment we both walked down to the dorm rooms and we walked the hallway praying over every room, every girl, every bed, the bathrooms– we anointed every door and prayed that the Lord would send His angels to protect each girl as she sleeps, protect her thoughts and her dreams. We decided to do a prayer walk every day we're here. But, I knew there had to be more…
I wrote to Logan and explained a little of what was going on and just asked him to pray, he sent me this back:
Wow, that sounds intense. God is not messing around allowing y'all to come into this environment. This will be an empowering experience though to see the authority of Jesus Christ reign supremely firsthand. I am convinced that worship is like a satan repellent. "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it!" (John 1:5) Y'all should worship with abandon, and stand in the authority of Jesus Christ boldly. What Jesus did at Calvary was take the authority over our lives back from Satan that he took from Adam. His head was crushed (Gen 3:15), and the victory was absolutely and completely won on the cross. That is why Jesus said "It is finished" in John 19:30. As bearers of His authority, it is our responsibility to enforce this victory. So in Jesus Christ's name, bind Satan, command him to leave, rebuke the dreams/thoughts/fears he sends. It is so important to understand the Lord's refuge. Satan cannot touch you! Y'all are covered in the blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of the Most High! "In all things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Roman 8:37-39) Even if you don't believe it, repeat it out loud over and over until it sinks into your heart that the Truth stands firm! "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17) This literally means hearing it over and over and over. It's real! His authority is supreme, above all others, subject to none! So stand boldly. Speak out courageously. Persevere through the darkness no matter how long it takes to leave. Who knows, it my take the entire month, but if that is God's purpose for y'all then amen! Satan can be very intimidating, but that is literally all he's got. Pray, pray, pray, pray! Ask the Lord to bring a mighty hedge of protection around the orphanage. Seek the Holy Spirit's insight into what rights the enemy has to be there. Satan is a legalist, break his rights and you break his power. You may have to break curses over the children or the orphanage, repent on behalf of someone or some group of people. The Holy Spirit will undoubtedly reveal what needs to be revealed, so don't feel like the pressure is on you to figure out a mystery or something. The Lord knew exactly what He was doing placing y'all there, so seek, listen, and go with whatever the Holy Spirit gives you. Taking communion is a powerful representation/remembrance of Jesus' victory. He has prepared you to lead these women in this orphanage with the present spiritual warfare! Crazy to think about right! But babe, you are a warrior, a daughter of the Lord of the angel armies. The authority you walk in has no limits, nothing too great to stand against. You are all more than conquerers, not because of anything we have done, but what Christ has done. We will be praying, the Light will prevail, and the kingdom of the Lord will come through 6 fearfully and wonderfully made daughters of the GREAT I AM!!! I am so proud of you my anointed love. Bring the shout of Victory!!!
He is probably going to kill me for posting this but, after he sent this I read it to the girls and it literally went from us feeling scared to knowing that God brought our team to fight for these girls. So pray for Thailand, pray for God to break Satan's strongholds here, pray for the girls at the orphanage, pray for our team.
I love you all so much and again thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for your prayers and your emails. If you want to know more about Thailand and how to pray for the countryhttp://www.operationworld.org/country/thai/owtext.html

Kenra
