I made it to Gainesville last week. Jacks–my little blue Subaru–and I slid over the backroads of the North Georgia mountains, her trunk filled with a couple of suitcases and a box of school supplies. On the seat next to me was a little violet my mom gave me before leaving; I named her Iris.
I found the house, got settled in and went for pizza CiCi's with a few of my roommates. We decided quickly that the $5 buffet would be a one night only deal and fell into bed with mildly annoyed stomachs. The next day found our house buzzing busily with activity as we prepared a progressive dinner for the Adventures Board of Directors. And the next day after that found me at my first Adventures worship session since my Searchlight.
Every Monday, the entire Adventures staff gathers to start our week with worship, prayer and a short devotional. I stood in the back, arms raised, breathing deeply of this culture and the goodness of my God. How amazing He is to bring me to this place for such a time as this. I'm blessed.
I'm working in a department called KINGDOM DREAMS. It's a place where we want to create a holistic culture within Adventures that puts the responsibility for everyone's dreams on the shoulders of the entire community. So, maybe I can't give money to every organization started by a Racer, but maybe I can tithe my time or tithe my "Tweets" or tithe a blog post to an organization that I'm really invested in.
And I get to write about it.
Y'all, I'm so excited. The LORD is taking my little dreams and stretching them out like the sky. He is moving in BIG ways here. He's re-breaking me and re-forming me, conforming me to the patterns of His heart. I'm living in community, walking out this KIngdom lifestyle… or trying to.
I'm so excited for what the LORD is doing here. And this is only week two.
I'm still in the process of raising support. RIght now, I need to raise another $4500 to cover my bills and living situation and classes. God has been faithful so far! I've said yes to His "GO!" Would you prayerfully consider saying yes to His, "SEND"?
