On our last day of ministry here in Kathmandu, Nepal we had a faith/ask the Lord day. Our ministry contact set up this day for us. We went out into the area in groups without any money, food and cell phones in hopes of allowing God to direct us to the people He wanted us to talk to. We prayed before we went out that God would give us a vision, word, color or anything that we could look for to direct us throughout the day. The only thing we could take with us was water and we also took with us the Book of John from the bible in Nepali to handout to people along the way. I was in a group with four other girls and as we prayed before leaving to go out Kelsea had a picture of a Buddhist temple and Alanna had a picture of a red sign in Nepali handwriting. We went walking towards a temple we remember seeing near a coffee shop we like to go to. I was praying on the walk to the temple and I felt God say to me that there was going to be a man at the temple that He wanted me to approach and talk to. Our group walked past the temple and I was at the back of the line. I look over my right shoulder and there was a man sitting on a red motorcycle outside the temple. He was the only person around at that time, so I was positive this was the man God wanted me to to talk to. I get everyone’s attention and we cross the street. I go up to the man and ask him if we can talk to him and he says sure. He spoke really good English so this was another confirmation that God had a word for this man. We start talking to him about his job and family. He tells us that his family has been homeless since the earthquake. We then ask him if he’s ever heard about Jesus and he tells us that he is Buddhist. He said he had heard of Jesus before but we got to share with him more about Jesus and how much he loves him. He was very curious to learn more and I left with him a Nepali bible. He allowed us to pray for him and his family, so we prayed that God would provide for his family and that they would be able to rebuild their house. When we were leaving he pulled out and started reading the book of John that we gave him. I’m sure that God directed us to this man and that he is going to continue revealing himself to him. I’m very glad that I listened to what I believe God was saying to me. I was sure to let the man know that us getting to talk to him and share about Jesus was a divine appointment. I really believe in my spirit that God has a big plan for this Nepali man.
After we left the temple our group continued walking and praying for God to give us more direction of where He wanted us to go the rest of the day. We ended up finding a taxi cab with a big red sign in Nepali writing so we asked the taxi driver if he would give us a free ride somewhere. He laughed at first but then he said okay. We were able to pray with a few more people throughout the day and hand out more bibles. This day was fun and a good way for us to practice being more in tune with the Holy Spirit and what he’s directing us to do. It was fun getting to share stories with the rest of our group at the end of the day. A lot of the groups were given food by the people they met and had all kinds of amazing stories of God at work. All God is looking for is a willing vessel He can use to do His work here on earth.
Thank you to all my supporters who have gave financially and prayed for me throughout this journey. My final fundraising deadline is December 31st. I still need around $5,000 to be fully funded. If you or anyone you know would like to give, I would greatly appreciate the support. Your prayers and support are helping me share Jesus with unreached people throughout Asia.
