The other night
after dinner my team had worship. We
wanted it to be a more relaxed night of worship because we’ve had a couple very
intimate and emotional times of worship since we had arrived. In the morning we played some songs and had
everyone write a letter of encouragement, not any specific person but just a
letter that would encourage someone in their faith. We had everyone bring the letters to dinner
and at dinner we exchanged letters with the person on your right. Some were thrown into a pile that everyone
pulled from. After that we wanted to
share communion with everyone. We had
been given free scones from ground, the coffee shop we visit on a daily basis
for internet, coffee, and fellowship. We
realized that we had not gotten any juice so we told everyone that we had
planned it but would not be able to actually do it because we didn’t have the
necessary products. David being the
amazing man of God that he is said “Jesus turned water into wine, lets
pray over some water.” So as a
group we took a measuring cup full of water and began to pray over it. My hope was that we would see an incredible
miracle because frankly I was having a low day and could have really used a
miracle, but no miracle happened. We
decided that it wasn’t the bread and wine but the attitude of the heart that
really matter. We took communion with
the scones and water. We have decided
that we will no longer take communion with juice but that we will pray over
water every time because we have faith that Christ will turn our water into
wine. This by far was one of the best
communions I’ve ever participated in and can’t wait to do it again.
