So often we look for SIGNS from God that this is what we are supposed to do, or signs to point us in the right direction. The past several weeks at church we’ve been talking about the signs that God has already given us. As many of you know this past month was pretty difficult for me. Being sick, losing a friend, and just the fear that was placed on my heart made February out to be a pretty difficult month…well I have good news!! It is march 8th and though i never thought things would get better so fast they have! And within a matter of days! Let’s review what’s been going on leading up to today.
Missed 3 Fridays of work in the Month of February because i was sick. Sadly i’m currently trying to fight of bronchitis but the good news is that I’m SLOWLY getting better…still have a really bad cough, but it’s not as often. Certain things trigger it more than other things, but it’s in the recovery stage…hopefully the colder weather that is coming back will not keep it from full recovery.
February 17th I lost a friend from high school in a car accident. This was difficult because we didn’t see much of each other after graduating high school, but he was always the one to keep me sane during band (yes i was a band geek)! The positive from this is that i know he’s in a better place and i have only great memories of him! The last time i saw him was at a wedding for another friend and he was nothing but his normal self, making everyone laugh!
The fear that was placed on my heart by loved ones about not raising the money also really affected this past month. But my Faith and confidence in the Lord prevailed through many hard weeks.
So with all this being said, February was pretty miserable. In complete honesty I turned from what I knew was right, JESUS, to the ways of the world to deal with the difficult times I was going through.
BUT…
Today in church we talked about our fifth sign given to us. It has helped me realize that this past month was a trial (which i did know) and that better days are to come. Though i’m not proud of what happened this past month, i’m looking forward to truly turning and relying on God to get me through the tough times.
My pastor summarized today’s lesson mo-town style:
Ain’t no mountain high
Ain’t no valley low
Ain’t no river wide enough, baby
If you need me, call me
No matter where you are
No matter how far
Just call out my name
I’ll be there in a hurry
You don’t have to worry
‘Cause baby,
There ain’t no mountain high enough
Ain’t no valley low enough
Ain’t no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you
Remember the day
I set you free
I told you
You could always count on me
And from that day on I made a vow
I’ll be there when you want me
Some way, some how
‘Cause baby,
There ain’t no mountain high enough
Ain’t no valley low enough
Ain’t no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you
No wind (no wind) , no rain (no rain)
My love is alive
Way down in my heart
Although we are miles apart
If you ever need a helping hand
I’ll be there on the double
Just as fast as I can
Don’t you know that
Ain’t no mountain high enough
Ain’t no valley low enough
Ain’t no river wide enough
To keep me from you
So with this all being said…I’m SO ready for March!!
