For me a new year always brings a new outlook on whats to come. When I look back on 2011 I can’t help but thank God for the good and bad, and I think about all that could have been. When I returned home from the World Race I told myself I would NOT fall back into the ways of the world and all my old habits, but going into a new year makes me reflect on how easily my old ways have taken a hold of me. BUT 2012 is here and I’ making changes!
I don’t normally make resolutions because I never stick to them but this year I’m determined to be a better me. To see God’s will play out in my everyday actions. Philippians 3:13 & 14 says; No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. Last year is over and it’s time to look forward. This is going to be a great year, I’m claiming it in Jesus’ name!
My resolutions this year are to:
1. Journal daily. My goal is to include at least one thing that made the day great. Last year I had started a blog called I challenge YOU where I was going to write at least one ‘like’ from each day. I very quickly let my “busy” life get in the way of that. My goal is when I Journal at night that I include those so that I can start the blog all over again. Which leads to my next resolution:
2. Blog once a week. I’ve really been slacking on this since being back in the US because I felt I had nothing to share, but God has called me to a job that for me is more than work, it is a ministry! I have the chance to speak truth and identity into young girls.
3. Get back into shape. I saw a great challenge posted my the wonderful Becky Miller on facebook that will help me reach this goal. I re-posted it on my facebook wall. For each ‘like’ my status gets I will run one mile in honor of that person. Another friend challenged me to pray for the person while I’m running, which fits right into my final resolution:
4. Praying more for the people in my life. God has placed certain people in my life for a reason and I want to see these relationships grow and develop over the next year, so what better way than to pray for them. So if you have prayer requests or concerns please share them with me because I would love to be praying for you!
So here’s to a new year, new beginnings, and a better me!
