The first annual
awakening conference was held in Brasov, Romania. It was such a beautiful city. And according to them “Probably the best
city in the world.” I don’t know if
I really get that yet! 220 people
attended the conference. This includes
alumni, staff and ALL current racers. There were 4 different squads. J
and K squads being the baby racers with only 2 months of the race completed, I
squad who have been gone for 4 months, and H squad who are 2 months from
completing the race. The days started
with worship lead Matt Snyder, Kim Daniels, and Chris Telfer. Worship was followed by sessions lead by the
world race staff. Sadly there were too
many sessions to be able to attend all. The afternoons were free for us to hang out with everyone, except for
the day you had debrief. The evenings
started with worship. 2 of the evenings
we were honored to hear Andrew Sheerman talk about the 42nd Generation, which
was eye opening. The following nights
were filled with worship and being filled with the Holy Spirit.
God definitely had
this planned out, and the staff did a great job in listening! Awakening was the perfect name for the
conference, because hearts, eyes, minds, and spirits were awakened to something
only God could do!
I’ve been awakened
to things I never imagined. I’m standing
in complete Freedom and team Beautiful Feet might actually be realizing that
this whole time we’ve been trying to do this community thing without God.
