Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.         Ephesians 3:20-21

God has definitely used this past month in Guatemala to teach me many things. Here's just a few things that I learned……

Stepping in to be a teacher at a daycare is not an easy task……at all….

Making a road is very difficult, especially when you only have pick axes, hoes, and machetes…..

God will bless you with little comforts of home, like getting to work in a physical therapy clinic…..

Listen to your body, it will tell you when something just isn't right inside…..

Be willing to let others take care of you when you're sick…..

The beauty of God comes in many different forms…..

Most importantly…..

Look to God!

No matter how bad you feel or how bad a day you've had……LOOK TO GOD!

When you're sick and literally can't move more than 10 steps away from the bathroom…LOOK TO GOD!

When you're not sure how to get a gigantic rock out of the ground where the road is supposed to go…..LOOK TO GOD!

When you're not really sure what you need to do next or where to go…..LOOK TO GOD!

We (note that I am included in that) so often turn to so many other things and/or people, then go to God if all that doesn't work out. In EVERY circumstance no matter how we feel at the time, we must move past our emotions and ourselves and look to God and trust Him. If you look at Ephesians 3:20-21, twice it says "to Him". We must always look to Him. Why, you ask??? In the next few words it says "who is able". Because He is able to take away whatever we are dealing with at the time. We look to Him because that is where we need to stay focused, not on the issue at hand.

Most people know Psalm 46:10 "Be still and know that I am God". But in the New American Standard version it says "Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." So cease striving! Stop trying to handle problems yourself. Stop trying to find a solution other places. Stop and go to God!

So I challenge you…..whatever you are struggling with right now, "cease striving" and look "to Him".

Please continue to be in prayer for us as we leave for El Salvador. I will also be posting another blog soon with a video recap of our month in Guatemala.

I still have a couple thousand dollars left to raise to meet my fundraising goal. If you would like to give, click on the "Support Me" link. Thank you to those who have given already!
