We have had an amazing time so far in El Salvador and I just wanted to share a little bit about what a typical day looks like for us. This month we are partnering with an organization called Mission to El Salvador based in San Salvador.

On Mondays and Fridays, we have been going to serve at a boys' orphanage. We have been putting new sheet metal roofing on the dorms and repainting the inside of the dorms as well. We got to partner up with Team Wrecked Warriors and it was a blast!

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays we serve with Proyecto El Faro (Project Lighthouse). This is a part of Mission to El Salvador. The homeless of San Salvador are invited to come in and take showers, get their hair cut, brush their teeth, exchange their dirty clothes for a clean pair, play games, hear a devotion, and eat a meal. This is an amazing program because it ministers to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the people.

The Project Lighthouse ministry is in the afternoons, so in the mornings we do whatever tasks need to be done around the Mission to El Salvador base. This has consisted of installing ceiling fans, painting, cleaning a portable air conditioner, cleaning tables and chairs, and anything else that needs to be taken care of.

As far as weekends go, you never know what's in store! Last Saturday, our amazing host took us to a beach house. It was beautiful and the weather was perfect for a beach day! We all loved getting in the ocean and the pool. While there, we also had a time of worship and prayer for the presidential elections that would be happening the next day. It was a great time to just relax and spend time with the Lord! This Saturday we will be going to a barbecue!

Sundays are more of a relaxing day. We go to church in the morning (last week we went to an all Spanish church!) and then take the rest of the day to spend time with one another and with Jesus. It's amazing to start our week off and spend Sunday to prepare for the week ahead of us.
Now you have a general idea of what life has looked like for us this month. Oh, I almost forgot……another cool aspect of our life here is that we live in the exact same room that we do the homeless ministry in! Here's a picture of the room when we are getting ready for bed:

If you'll notice, this is the exact same room that is shown in one of the pictures above from Project Lighthouse.
It has truly been a blessing to be a part of this ministry so far! Please keep Mission to El Salvador and all that they do in your prayers. And also continue to pray for my team this month as we continue to grow closer to the Lord and closer to each other.
