So, some updates that are way overdue.

Starting off with a fundraising update, I am fully funded!!! I am so thankful to all of you for your endless support. I owe a huge thank you to my friends and family who have encouraged me on this journey so far. Thank you to those who have donated their funds, time, energy, supplies, also their love and care so that I could go on, what is sure to be a life altering next nine months. I am so incredibly excited to finally get started! And I am so grateful to God and his goodness, and to you my supporters.

Travel update: I left for Atlanta the 9th, with my mom and dad for a few days of launch training. I was trained on how to be a treasurer for my team, which includes keeping track of where my team spends money, how much money we have, and keeping a budget, and sticking to it as well. Then, after some training all of the treasurers went to the grocery store to buy two days worth of food for our teams. Being team treasurer is a position that I did not ask to be and quite honestly a position that I still feel unqualified for because the role is out out of my comfort zone. I don’t love math, or money, or think that I am well organized. However, God likes to take those things that we don’t like doing and show us that we really can do it. He is showing me that with my trust in him I am qualified and that I am enough. I am learning that I do not need to be afraid of money, budgets or organization, but that yes, I may not think that I am naturally gifted in those areas, but that does not mean I can’t do it and I should give up. Instead this is the task that I have been given, because my leaders saw that I could handle the responsablities this role requires. I have made a commitment to my team to serve them as best that I can and this is a role where God has asked me to serve. I will do that by being honest with my team about budgets, and spending. The lord is already showing me a glimpse of his plans on how he is going to grow me during these next nine months and for the rest of my life.

Now, my squad and I are already halfway to our final destination, Swaziland!  Yesterday was my squad’s last day in the good old US of A. For the next nine months we are willingly sacrificing luxuries, freedoms and comforts of home to bring the Kingdom to the places he has called us, Swaziland, Nepal, India, and Guatemala.

It is still unbelievable how much the Lord has provided to make this missions trip a reality. He has provided all of you amazing, wonderful, loving people who have been such faithful supporters. I couldn’t have made it to this point with out you. I love all of you and I will also miss all of you!!!
