I stood shocked while looking at a calendar today, only to realize that we are closing in on our third full week here at Legacy of Hope International School in Cambodia.
Where did the time go?
Didn’t I just get off of a bus that was bringing my team to Cambodia from Vietnam?
Our time here in Battambang has been such a blessing!
Teaching English has been a number of things.
Rewarding.
Challenging.
Full of joy.
Full of growth.
Full of smiles and laughter.
Sometimes frustrating.
Most of the time chaotic.
Unforgettable.
Unforgettable is probably my favorite way to describe this month. Through all the times I got frustrated with my students I will never forget how much I loved them at the end of the day. I will never forget their hugs and kisses and the way they said, “Thanks you teachaaa” at the end of the day. I will never forget their smiles and their race to be finished with their work before everyone else. I will never forget the joy I felt from being in a classroom with my sweet, sweet students this month.
There have been plenty of moments of the Race where I have been genuinely happy and felt completely at home. This month was definitely one of them. Having to pack up and say goodbye, yet again, is going to hurt. As I think back on where I have been and what I have been so privileged do on this trip I am in awe that God even gave me this opportunity.
Sometimes I still can’t believe that I’m really living this life.
Traveling around the world.
Living out of a backpack.
Making myself at home wherever the Lord takes me.
Partnering with a different ministry in every country.
Other times I’m completely comfortable with the fact that this life has become normal.
As I enter into Month 8 I keep praying that God will keep me present where I am. Seven months have slipped right through my fingers. It’s so easy for me to get wrapped up in what’s going on at home and how I can’t wait to be there. I know the next four months will fly by and before I know it I’ll be on a plane that is on it’s way to good ole America.
{God, thank You for a beautiful month in Cambodia. You have blessed me and my team beyond measure and we couldn’t be more grateful. Thank You for the relationships we were able to form this month. Thank you for the children we were able to teach and love on this month. Thank you for creativity to teach the kids here at LOHI Academy. I pray that You will keep bringing teams here to bless Pastor Sam, his family, and the staff. Lord, I pray that you will keep me present wherever You take me so I can fully take in every single thing You have for me on the remainder of this race. You never fail to be faithful and for that I am grateful. Thank you for loving me. Thank You for your goodness. Amen.}
