Friends are getting married.
The weather is wild.
The semester is coming to an end.
But the thing that scares me the most is that on Monday, April 15, 2013, I attended my last CRU bible study. EVER. What? Where have the past 4 years gone? This can't be my life, there's no way.
I have undeservingly been so blessed with the best friends in the world.
I absolutely couldn't imagine life without these beautiful, wise, loving, Godly women. God knew exactly what He was doing when He carefully placed me in Bachel's Bible Study, and I will forever be grateful for that. Over the last 4 years we have had our fair share of laughs, tears, conflict, and spiritual conversations. It is amazing for me to see how God has allowed us to live life together.
My point of this blog isn't to tell you how obsessed I am with my bible study, or how great my 4 years in college have been.
I'm glad you asked. I'll tell you why!
1. I am scared to leave the best friends I could ever ask for.
2. I am scared to leave my family.
3. I am scared to watch God wreck me.
4. I am scared get close to people in the countries I go to and then have to leave them.
5. I am scared to live a minimalist lifestyle.
6. I am scared to live in a community of strangers.
7. I am scared of having people reject the Gospel.
8. I am scared of raising support.
BUT I WILL NOT LET FEAR WIN!
As real as these fears are for me, I know they won't last long. Scripture tells us not to fear for our God is with us.
"So do not fear for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
Isaiah 41:10
This piece of scripture gives me so much hope that my fears will be wiped away and they will be restored with truth.
1. My best friends will be supporting me endlessly.
2. My family will be proud of me for doing what God has called me to do.
3. God will wreck me for the better.
4. I will impact people through Christ and they will forever have a special place in my heart.
5. I will learn to love living out of a backpack in third world countries.
6. I will love X Squad and they will become lifelong friends.
7. Some will reject the Gospel, but seeds will be planted. People will come to Christ!
8. God will provide for me so He can send me out to further His Kingdom.
I am so thankful that I live for a God who tells me that I don't have to be afraid. I serve a God who guides me through life so I can bring ultimate glory to Him! How amazing is that?
Even though this is a scary time, I can't wait for September to be here! I'm so excited to see how God uses me and my squad!
