(You may think I haven’t been blogging because
I’m insanely busy but in reality I have been soaking up my time left on the race.)
First off I want to say I’m sorry.
I know one of the best parts about being on the World Race is being able to share everything I am going through with my supporters back home.
I’ve been failing in that aspect and I’m sorry.
Ever since we left Africa I just haven’t had the motivation or desire to blog.
So let me just get you up to date with everything.
Month 7—Serbia
Serbia was my favorite month so far…..by far.
We worked at a kids camp.
We slept in tents outside and I worked in the kitchen all month doing dishes but it was still my favorite. I loved the camp atmosphere and the camp had three puppies…need I say more ha
One thing that made this month so amazing was how God sent people our way to just love on us. This amazing couple, Jeff and Tammy, pretty much adopted our whole team and loved the crap out of us. They came to the camp for the same amount of time we were there, came the day before us and left a few days after us. God is so amazing. They were there building a low ropes course and some of my team got to help with that. We did bible studies with them each morning and just got to do life with them. Another amazing couple kidnapped us for a day and took us to their home. We got to play video games, eat banana pancakes and just get a taste of home.
God is so good and He was really just loving on me this month. Who knows…I might be working at a camp in the future.
Month 8—Romania
MORE CAMP!
This month we got to help out at a kids camp in the mountains of Transylvania, passed by Dracula’s house 4 times. The mountains were beautiful and reminded me of Colorado. The kids that came to the camp were from ghettos in Pitesti, Romania. We got to take them away from their hard life and show them the simple love of God. We got to help out at two different camps during our time in Romania. The camps were only 3 days long. During our time not at the camp we got to go to a homeless home and feed them as well as paint their house.
My favorite moment from this month was at the second camp. We separated the girls and boys and I got to share my testimony with the girls and speak some life into them. I actually cried. I have never shared my testimony with a large group and it was a very freeing experience. My confidence in who God has made me just continues to increase.
Month 8—Romania PVT!!
Parent Vision Trip. Oh my goodness this week went by so fast but it was so wonderful. My dad got to come to Romania and do ministry with me for a few days. We were in Draganesti, Romania which is a pretty small town with not much to do. So eventually we had to talk about stuff I’ve been going through. It was awesome to be vulnerable and invite my dad into that. One of my favorite parts of the trip was when we got to go to Bucharest for our off days and I just got to hang out with my dad…..It was like we were just on a vacation for a moment. And I felt like a queen compared to the living conditions I have been used to.
Month 9—Cambodia
This month we got to stay at the Overflow Guest House run by some amazing people who have done the World Race. So they just get us. We have been helping out at the guest house, doing evangelism and teaching English this month. Something that was really cool about this month was our hosts actually took the time to really tell us about the culture here in Cambodia. This is the closest I have felt to a culture. It is hard going to so many countries to take the time and really learn about each. So that has been really nice this month. Also one of my biggest areas I struggle with is evangelism. It is so hard for me. I know it shouldn’t be but it is uncomfortable. Anyways our host actually gave us a class on evangelism. So many times you are just expected to know how to do things on the World Race but you just don’t. It was an amazing gift to take this class. Oh and our whole team got to watch the new movie “First they Killed my Father” about the Cambodia’s history.
There is a ton of spiritual oppression here in Asia. Prayers are always welcome.
So there is a little run down of the past few months. If you have any questions feel free to message me. I will be writing more about what God has been specifically teaching me lately but I just wanted to get everyone up to date with my life. Again if you have any questions or want me to write about anything in specific let me know.
