After moving in and getting settled in Jeffery’s Bay we finally found out what our ministry would be. Praises! Each team has had a different ministry for the past week and my team has been working with Beats and Books.
Beats and Books is an after school program where students receive tutoring to improve their math and English skills and also learn how to play instruments! They also learn more about Jesus everyday and do worship together.
Worship with the kids is so fun! They have their own little band/orchestra. There’s guitar, trumpet, violin, piano, and drums that they play and it is so beautiful and joyful.
This past Thursday we moved over to a camp for five days. Most everyone was a group leader but my team was on kitchen duty. Which meant lots and lots of dishes, serving food, and preparation for the cooks to be able to cook. I had a great time in the kitchen and I’m working on being where my feet are more and more everyday.
I’ve been learning here lately that sometimes God gives us a peace about things and we don’t understand why or we may feel like we shouldn’t feel that way. For me the most important thing to remember in those situations is to allow God to work in my life the way He needs to.
