Most of you are probably wondering what the heck this is all about. Suddenly I have this link on my Facebook page preceded by a of plea of some sort that states, “I’m going on the World Race, please support me,” and you are more confused than ever. First, I would like to apologize for my lack of originality in my plea. I hope that as this journey goes on I will get a little more creative. Right now, however, I am in desperate need of beginning the fundraising process, so straight forward is all that I can be.
Okay, let’s back up a second. WELCOME to my very first blog EVER! People have been telling me to start one at least since I graduated college, and it’s taken a literal act of God to make me begin writing again.
At the end of 2013/ beginning of 2014 I finally signed up for this thing called “The World Race.” You may or may not have heard of it, but that’s why I’m here.
Essentially, it is an 11 month mission trip that will take me to 11 different countries during that time frame. While I am overseas I am going to be involved in changing the lives of others in the name of Jesus Christ, and I’m quite certain mine will be radically changed as well.
My launch date is August 31, 2014 and I will return July 31, 2015. Originally I was scared of how much I would miss. I will miss significant birthdays of family and friends. I’m sure I will miss weddings, ( with my family’s luck possibly another birth), but most of all I will miss the people whom I’m leaving behind during that time. But, I am POSITIVE that it will all be worth it. I am a daughter of the King and he has called me where my trust is without borders–shout out to Hillsong–and He is asking me to believe without a doubt that He is good and that His plans for my life are bigger than I have ever fathomed.
My financial goal for the race is $16,254. It is ALOT of money, but I believe that God is going to help me raise every penny. Now, I just need your help. Please click on the “Support Me” link to find out how to give!
