i’m going to start by assuming that you’ve all seen coco, disney/pixar’s latest animated masterpiece and winner of the oscar for best animated feature.
coco taught me that chasing after something that may seem a little scary or facing fears is easier if you’re doing it with your family. well, yeah, you may be saying. but you can’t take your family with you on world race.
but that’s the cool thing! i can! because i’m a part of God’s family. anywhere i go, He goes with me. i’ll always have family with me because i am one of His children. coco taught me that you may find family when you’re not expecting it. miguel certainly wasn’t expecting hector to be his family, but he was. as a christian, i have family all over the globe. and i know i’m going to help bring new members into my family.
that’s what’s so cool about world race. i’ll be getting to spend nine months on the field with my family, meeting more of my family, and finding new members of my family. the way God works is amazing. He dropped this opportunity right into my lap, so to speak, and then said yes so many times after that. after months of feeling like He was telling me no, not yet, and wait, at first, i wasn’t sure this is was He wanted me to do. but then, all those yeses, and i knew. this is why He was closing doors. He wants me to go and bring people into the family. He wants me to trust Him and to have faith. and i have found that through Him, and listening to His will, it’s not as hard as trying to do things my way, just like it wasn’t as hard for miguel once he worked with his family.
God’s family is huge. i’m part of it, you’re part of it, and after this trip, there could be many, many more brothers and sisters in it too. i can’t wait to meet them all. i can’t wait to encounter God’s family in cambodia, guatemala, peru, and ecuador in the next season of my life. i would like to invite you to subscribe to this blog if you are interested in following God’s family in countries far away from your home. i would also like to ask you for prayer. prayer does huge things! please pray for me and for my team that will be travelling to meet the family. lastly, if you feel led, there is an opportunity to donate funds that will help me get to the field. all you have to do is click the orange donate button at the top of the page and follow the steps after that. if you have any questions or want to know more details about my trip, please don’t hesitate to contact me. i would love to hear from you!
cheers,
hannah
