"What Do You Want to Do With Your Life?"
If you are in my age group (I am 24.5), this question is more common than you'd prefer to acknowledge.
The thing is, I really do not know what I want to do with my life. I have more than enough ideas, plans, hopes, and dreams. Almost all of them revolve around people, encouraging/discipling them, providing for their needs, and helping them achieve their dreams and goals. Oh as well as intelligence and adventure…I relish an intellectual conversation and good adventure…
But how am I to connect these passions into a career? I am more than ready to work 70+ hours per week on something that intrigues me and helps others, but I am not sure where to look.
While I am working on a curriculum to start up a mentorship program for college students at my home church (thevillagechapel.org), I am still in the process of creating a non-profit to provide eyeglasses for Kenyan students, as well as look for a job to pay the bills. I am also looking into various Masters programs in the field of counseling, but I am not sure when to start a grad program. I am also waiting to hear back from AIM's staff to see if I can co-lead a Real Life team next year (for the summer in Peru; to lead college students in sharing the Gospel to those who live around and on the Amazon River.)
The ''good'' thing is–I have come to the realization that I do not have to have everything planned out.
This is true for you, too.
