Purpose and Not Just a Paycheck

3 months ago: I was anxious about ministry in Africa.

Today: I cannot imagine my life without my friends-turned-family in Kenya and Uganda.

I have loved nearly every day here, be it through the relentless love of my brothers in Kisumu, witnessing in Mwanza, preparing dinner in the dust in Isabania, or counselling high school students in Kampala.

Life is good–but why is this? Simply because God has loved me and chosen me. I have been able to love more and do more because of Him. I asked for strength and purpose–God's strength and purpose. These are needs in my life and are certainly not limited to the Race.

As I search for a job/career on my return to the States, I pray for a purpose and not just a paycheck, a challenge and not just a commute.

May I ask when was the last time you asked God for your needs and not only your wants?  It took my going to Africa, what will it take for you?
