On this sunny Saturday afternoon, I am reminded of what a good friend of mine once told me:

“Hannah, the dreams you have in and for your life cannot compare to God’s dreams for your life.”

It’s quite simple, but yet profound.

I keep making plans for my life, as well as goals, dreams, and aspirations.

Like seeing Everest.

Visiting all continents.

Taking care of orphans.

Loving the loved-less.

Creating a successful small business.

Earning a Ph.D.

Publishing a short stories compilation.

Learning how to fly a plane.

Learning how to solo skydive.

Creating one “original idea.” (Think John Forbes Nash here.)

Finding a man to love, marry, and spend the rest of our lives together glorifying God in all that we do.

Learning how to SCUBA.

Learning how to fence.

And the list goes on and on and on…

BUT REALLY. These are but a few of MY plans, goals, dreams, and aspirations.

Who knows if I will achieve any of them?  Only He does. He also knows what else will be a part of my life. Which brings me back to Lauren Marie Love (the good friend who reminded me a few years ago in Spain about my dreams versus God’s dreams.)

I don’t know what will occur in the future, but I DO know that I can trust Him about it.
