Nearly every day, I rush to the kitchen to help
prepare lunch and dinner with Lalania, Grace, and Mary Sue. These three ladies,
who are in their 50s, 30s, and 20s (respectively), are all hard-working and
beautiful. Their love of God and servants’ hearts are beautiful examples to me.
I enjoy learning about their lives as we chop up cabbage and carrots, stir
chicken and cheese, and boil water and broth. They are very open and gracious,
as well as curious and inquisitive about my own life. They ask questions about
my family, dreams, and goals and their generous hearts and genuine interest
initially caught me off-guard, but now, after a week of this, my days feel less
than full without a few hours with them. I’d write more on this, but there is
some squash to cut up…
